Social Worker, Hospital Discharge

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an established Social Care team in the Emergency Department at Whiston Hospital. We are an enthusiastic multi-disciplinary team, with the primary aim of ensuring a safe and timely discharge of patients, across a number of local authorities.

The work is diverse, challenging and rewarding, requiring individuals to be able to work independently and contribute to the working of a larger multi-disciplinary team. The team is a mixed skill group with a range of experience, who provide a supportive working environment.

You would be expected to work on a rolling 7 day rota including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

During the pandemic, team members are not currently based at the A&E Department and are working remotely from an office on site.

This Authority is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its clients and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

This post is subject to Enhanced DBS Disclosure and Social Work England Registration.

Council employees are required to abide by the ethical standards embodied by the 7 NOLAN principles of conduct in public life. These include selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty and leadership.
