The post-holder will be required to lead on the day-to-day development and design of engineering schemes in relation to all aspects of Medway Tunnel as well as being responsible for the operational delivery of the Medway Tunnel.
The post-holder will work closely with other colleagues and Medway Councils contractor. They will also work closely with other members of the Structures, Tunnel and Drainage team, therefore not being just limited with works relating to the Medway Tunnel but also Highway Structures and Highway Drainage.
The role will entail site specific investigations and analysis in order to ensure designs are compliant with legislation and industry standards, undertaking network/traffic management functions, as well as studies in relation to the schemes being undertaken. This will allow the post-holder to manage the engineering area of expertise in order to contribute to efficient and effective provision of engineering services.
The post-holder will be responsible for delivering work programmes, financial and project reports, as well as analysing, developing and appraising projects and monitoring the performance of schemes to ensure services are provided at the highest level.
The post-holder will be expected to work independently and supervise work undertaken by Contractors and Subcontractors. They will be required to coordinate and manage the day to day work of staff within their area of expertise to enable the management and continual improvement of the team.
