Hours: Full-time 37 hours per week
Base Location: Working from home and any CBC offices, including Priory House, Shefford. You will
be expected to attend a CBC office location on a monthly basis, and as needed to carry out your role
Contract Type: Hybrid - Permanent

More about the role:

The Young People's Support Team sits within Central Bedfordshire Childrens Services, Specialist Service area. We work directly with young people aged 11yrs to 17yrs old who are assessed as either a Child in Need or Child at Risk of Significant Harm; Childrens Act 1989.  Our Intensive Support Worker's offer weekly direct work with both the young person and their care givers. These sessions are delivered at the young person's home, school, college or in the community across Central Bedfordshire. We seek to offer bespoke packages of support, that are co-produced with our clients. Our Intensive Support Worker's are highly skilled and motivated to offer consistent and timely support for our most vulnerable and amazing young people here in Central Bedfordshire.

This role is both rewarding and emotive; working with young people who need and want people who hear their voices and put them in the centre of the decision making about their lives and aspirations for the future. You will have opportunities to be creative and ambitious for your young people; a varied role where no week is the same. In return we will offer you reflective and supportive supervision, further training opportunities and spaces to learn and develop your skills within a motivated and highly skilled team.

You will be able to plan and deliver your sessions with families and see them grow and build their self-esteem and confidence. Our young people are at the centre of all that we do.

You will need Level 4 Qualifications and evidence experience in working directly with young people and their families. You will need a full UK Driving Licence, valid insurance, and access to a vehicle. It is desirable to have Youth Work or equivalent qualification. It is important that you demonstrate your understanding of this stage in child development and have experience of working 1:1 with young people and families. Skills such as an ability to listen, observe, remain calm under pressure, and produce reports, plans and assessments of high quality are key skills you will need to demonstrate within your application.  We need people who can capture, reflect, and consider the needs of our clients.  We will offer you training with opportunities to build your skills and knowledge as part of your induction.
