Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: Working from home and any CBC offices, including Priory House, Shefford. You will be expected to attend a CBC office location on a monthly basis, and as needed to carry out your role

Contract Type: Hybrid - Fixed Term/Secondment - until 31 March 2025

Closing Date: 14th August 2022

More about the role:

An exciting and wide-ranging opportunity has arisen as a fixed term contract/secondment to support the Supporting Families (formerly known nationally as the Troubled Families) programme within Children’s Services.

The purpose of the role of the Supporting Families Analyst is to develop and improve high-quality data analysis to support and underpin the programme in supporting families with complex needs. Working as a Supporting Families Data Analyst you will promote and lead on the gathering, collating, validating and use of data, intelligence and insight to help inform decision-making and shape organisational policy, strategy and priorities.

You will drive forward improvements, so that we can understand and address the changing needs and demands of our families, particularly in the context of challenging times for local public services. You will be required to work closely with different teams, projects and partners to collect information including the Early Help, Children Social Care and Children's Centres. As Principal Analyst you will also be expected present and work with Senior Managers, Members and Senior External Partners. Strong ICT skills and proficient use of management information systems, are vital. Experience of SQL, Power BI and/or other business intelligence tools would be desirable.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a single integrated data repository to enable the Supporting Families Programme Team to have access to a wide variety of easily accessible data as well as corporately to deliver strategic business objectives. This will include meeting the national outcomes framework and developing systems for measuring the impact of interventions with children and families.
  • Bring together multiple complex data sources using a wide range of technology and software.
  • Model and champion the integration and automation of data collection and reporting; ensuring effective data and insight supports continuous improvement and transformation into data led and needs driven high performing services.
  • Provide support, advice and guidance to users of business-critical software, maintaining strong relationships with customers, including senior managers, as well as working collaboratively with members of the ICT team.
  • Responding to all statutory and mandatory requirements in a timely manner.
  • Produce and distribute a range of business intelligence reports and dashboards, incorporating performance, customer insight, demand analysis and statutory returns.
  • To present reports and Dashboards to Senior Managers and members, and support the Performance Manager where necessary.

 

Key Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need as a minimum:

  • Pro-actively identifying issues relating to data quality and processing, and proposing effective solutions to these problems Excellent structured and logical ways of working with large and highly complex data sets, from a variety of sources and relational databases.
  • Excellent analytical and investigatory skills to interpret varied and complex information and be able to understand concepts quickly.
  • The technical ability to effectively use reporting tool and techniques to extract, analyse and interpret complex data sets and present them effectively to various audiences to inform decision-making.
