ALLOTMENT AND ASSETS OFFICER

Knowsley Council's Environmental Sustainability Service is seeking to recruit an Allotment and Assets Officer to join a vibrant and exciting team with responsibility for tackling the climate emergency, developing the borough's parks and open spaces and leading on environmental education of Knowsley's residents.

The team is seeking a talented, motivated individual to lead the day-to-day management of the boroughs existing nine statutory allotment sites and to support community growing organisations across Knowsley. The post holder will work proactively with the allotment associations and community growing organisations to develop site improvement plans and to secure external grant funding to deliver much needed infrastructure improvements to these sites.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for key buildings within the service portfolio, ensuring that they meet statutory requirements and function effectively for service users.

The post will be based at Court Hey Park in Huyton and it is essential that the post holder holds vocational skills to at least the equivalent of NVQ Level 3 or similar in Environmental Conservation / Amenity Horticulture or alternative form of landscape management / building management and Health & Safety compliance.
