Case Officer (Corporate Services - Procurement)

We are currently seeking a self-motivated and proactive individual excited by the challenge of a varied role within our Case Management (Corporate Services) team.

Working in a multi-skilled team focused on delivering core support services, this is a fantastic opportunity to work at the heart of the council, shaping processes, ways of working, and providing excellent customer service to a whole range of stakeholders. 

The primary function of the post holder will be to assist in maintaining sound purchasing and procurement practice across the Council. You will be responsible for compiling and maintaining the Council’s corporate contract register; place adverts on relevant business portals with regards to the Council’s contract opportunities and respond to enquiries; assist in carrying out evaluations of submissions for contracts and recording detailed feedback.

The post holder will also provide training and assistance to users of the e-procurement system for direct ordering, goods receipting and requisitioning.

The post holder would ideally have previous experience working in a purchasing environment showing a breadth of knowledge in key areas, including liaising with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders; have excellent communication skills and can prioritise work and meet deadlines. It would also be desirable if the post holder had previously worked for a public sector organisation. 

Although the post holder will form part of the Case Management (Corporate Services) Team, the Case Officer will work closely with the Procurement Specialists to ensure goods and services are procured in the most economic and advantageous way.
