Assistant Manager

We have exciting times ahead at North Herts Day Services & Stevenage Resource Centre and we are currently seeking a highly motivated and committed individual to join our management team. In this role, you will be working in a highly supportive team, in which your motivation and strategic planning ability will help the service to develop and maintain a high level of service provision.

About you:


• Do you have the determination and drive to work and lead within a team that will implement a changing programme for our in-house day services?
• Can you work with lots of people from across the county council to make our vision a reality?
• Can you problem solve and use initiative with strong interpersonal skills being essential, giving clear direction and feedback to staff.
• Are you able to work within a dynamic creative service, with a QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
• Have you the ability to reflect on your own experiences and practice to develop effective and trusting working relationships across your team.
• Can you provide evidence of strong communication, negotiation skills and good computer literacy, with the ability to use your initiative and creative thinking?
• Are you someone who is interested in developing their skills and the skills of a dedicated staff team?


About the job:


• Developing and empowering staff teams that support adults from different care groups, including older people with age associated needs such as dementia, or those with a learning disability, who may have complex support needs or those with physical disabilities, and younger adults with varying learning, emotional, behavioural and or physical needs who may be transitioning from college.
• You will monitor staff performance, provide support, recognize talent and implement appropriate individual career and development plans.
• Responsible for the planning and supervising the day-to-day duties within different settings, supporting the manager in their responsibilities, and stepping up to cover in their absence.
• Responsible for advising on and developing policies, procedures, and operational systems to reflect the aims and objectives of the service.
