We are seeking to appoint a qualified, Band 5 or 6 Occupational Therapist, to work as part of our multi-disciplinary Therapy Team across the Rivermead Inclusive Trust/Rivermead Solutions.  You will work closely with the Therapy Lead for the Trust and wider therapy team consisting of a Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Creative Therapists and Therapy Assistants. Our special schools and mainstream schools have a high proportion of learners who require occupational therapy and other physical interventions and so we would like to appoint an additional therapist who will be able to meet this demand.

The Post holder will:

  • work directly with young people, assessing needs and providing intervention
  • provide specialist training to other staff to develop whole school approaches to meet the physical needs in the classroom and throughout the school day
  • provide advice and guidance to parents; where appropriate training them to support their children at home
  • oversee the work of support staff working with the post-holder

You should be enthusiastic and motivated and able to manage your own workload. You must be flexible, approachable and able to communicate with a range of professionals, parents and the young people themselves. You should have some experience of working with children and young people with Autism and/or other Special Educational Needs.

Please contact Deborah Stammers, on the above email for an application pack and to arrange a visit.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment.

All postholders are subject to enhanced DBS checks.
