We are looking for a special person to take on an exciting opportunity.

We are seeking to appoint a qualified Band 5 or 6 Speech and Language Therapist, to work as part of our multi-disciplinary Therapy Team across the Rivermead Inclusive Trust/Rivermead Solutions.  You will work closely with the Therapy Lead for the Trust and the wider therapy team consisting of a Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Creative Therapists and Therapy Assistants. Our special schools and mainstream schools have a high proportion of learners who require speech and language therapy so we would like to appoint an additional therapist to meet this demand.

The Post holder will:

  • work directly with young people, assessing needs and providing intervention
  • provide specialist training to other staff to develop whole school approaches to meet speech, language and communication needs in the classroom and throughout the school day
  • provide advice and guidance to parents; where appropriate upskilling them to support their children at home
  • oversee the work of support staff and therapy assistants

You should be enthusiastic, motivated and able to manage your own workload. You must be flexible, approachable and able to communicate with a range of professionals, parents and the young people themselves. It is desirable to have some experience of working with children and young people with Autism and/or other Special Educational Needs.
