ASYE Social Worker

Team: Various across the social work teams

Job Family: Qualified: Supporting - CBG9; Unqualified: Supporting - CBG7

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: SWE Registered: £28,591 - £31,257 per annum - Plus MRS £1,000 per annum; Unqualified: £22,571 - £24,920 per annum

Location: Working from home and any CBC offices, including Priory House, Shefford. You will be expected to attend a CBC office location on a monthly basis, and as needed to carry out your role

Contract Type: Hybrid - Permanent

The Teaching Partnership is committed to the transformation of the quality of education and experience received by social work practitioners. By working collaboratively with partner organisations, we are helping raise the quality of social work, and ensuring social workers have the necessary knowledge, skills and values to practice effectively.

Social workers from Central Bedfordshire Council have received national awards for their outstanding practice, namely student social worker of the year and wellbeing practitioners, and was the National Children and Young People Awards winner in 2020.  Central Bedfordshire Council’s Children’s Services have maintained our good Ofsted rating.

Newly qualified staff have protected  workloads and an individual training programme during their ASYE, as well as additional reflective supervision and the support of a mentor and independent assessor throughout your first year.  We will give you plenty of support to help you develop your knowledge, relationship based practice, and social worker appreciation.

We’ll place you in a specific host service for the duration of your ASYE.  Thereafter, you can elect to move to another service if the opportunity arises.  All successful candidates have a careers discussion with a senior member of staff from Learning and Development.

We are looking for people with a social work degree at 2:1 or above / expected, in Social Work or a Masters, people with ideas and knowledge who can deliver imaginative ambitious interventions that improve outcomes for all involved.

COVID-19 has meant that we have had to redesign our recruitment process, and the workshop, interview and associated activities will be undertaken virtually.
