Graduate Economic Development Officer

Do you want to play a part in making Tunbridge Wells a great place for businesses to invest and grow? Join our team based in the beautiful town of Royal Tunbridge Wells.

A new opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable graduate to join the Economic Development Team. You will deliver projects ranging from town centre regeneration to recruitment events. You will also get involved in supporting the visitor economy through marketing and promoting the Borough as a tourist destination. You can be certain that no day will be the same!

You will need an understanding of the key issues that affect business investment and growth, and be keen to learn more.  In return you will receive on-the-job training to deliver initiatives that drive sustainable growth in the local economy.  In this role you will gain experience in collaborative working and in coming up with creative ways to get actions delivered.

This position will suit candidates qualified to degree level (in a relevant discipline) who are looking to kick-start a career in economic development.

What you can expect:

You’ll take part in running events, engaging with communities and businesses, and working creatively to develop the Borough’s economy.

This is a two-year fixed term post for 37 hours a week and will sit in the Economic Development and Property Service, working with all departments of the Council.
