Would you like to be part of West Berkshire Council’s expanding Economy Team, supporting a high profile transformational place-making programme to deliver town centre improvements in Newbury, Thatcham and Hungerford? We are looking to appoint a Project Support Officer to join our dynamic team, ensuring that West Berkshire remains #open for business for years to come.
The council has ambitious plans to ensure West Berkshire remains a beautiful place where people want to live, thrive and do business in a changing world, ensuring we are ready to meet the challenges posed by economic drivers and climate change. These plans include a refreshed approach to the regeneration of a council-owned industrial estate to deliver quality jobs; working with partners to reduce barriers to employment for local people; addressing challenges to rural economic growth in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty; and delivering place-making strategies for our three town centres.
Reporting to the Principal Place-shaping Officer (Town Centres), you will be integral to the delivery of the town centres programme over the next 2 years and beyond.
You will need to be someone who is passionate about making a difference, relishes a challenge, is a creative thinker and who has strong communication and organisational skills. You will embrace the opportunity to lead on individual work streams and build up practical experience and skills to complement your recent academic study or equivalent.
We are ideally looking to offer the successful candidate the full number of hours advertised above. We may however consider offering less hours than advertised providing they meet the requirements of the role and service which will be determined by the recruiting manager.
