Venue Technician's - The Spotlight

Hours – 2 Positions - one 40 hour post and one and 20hour post

Salary: Starting salary FTE £ 22,568.00 p.a.

The Spotlight Theatre is now open. The venue, close to Hoddesdon High Street, has a host of first class entertainment lined up to entertain the public, with fun for all ages.

We are seeking to recruit a full time and a part-time Venue Technician to assist with the technical operation of The Spotlight’s events and entertainments programme. You will be working alongside the Technical Manager who will provide training in areas where necessary.

 In this role, you will help to ensure the smooth running of all technical aspects of productions as well as providing support for a range of events including cinema, conferences and private functions. Duties involve working with a small team of staff to rig and operate the sound/lighting systems and stage equipment according to the hirers/artist’s needs.

This is a varied role including a wide range of practical technical duties. You will need to be great with people as well as having some experience of technical work, preferably in a theatre environment.

You will also be given the opportunity to work in a multifunctional venue and gain knowledge and experience in all technical theatre aspects such as sound, light, set building and design stage management. You will already have an awareness of Health and Safety issues, good communication skills, and be a team player with the ability to work flexibly.

The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in fluent English is essential in this post.
