Starting salary £27,514, increasing to £33,486
Rushmoor Borough Council is seeking a dynamic and confident Community Safety Officer to deal with antisocial behaviour and community safety issues across the borough.
You will play a key part of the community safety team and you will have the chance to play a part in developing this exciting service that sits within the council’s Operations department.
The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of the Antisocial Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014 and associated tools and powers including Community Protection Notices, Civil Injunctions and Closure Orders. Experience in taking statements and building court files would also be beneficial.
You will work in partnership across a wide range of agencies including Hampshire Police, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue, Youth Offending Teams and Housing Associations with the aim of reducing antisocial behaviour, first time entrants to the criminal justice system, the fear of crime and repeat victims. As such, effective communication skills are a must.
There will also be the opportunity for you to work on community projects, and to be part of our Prevent and Safeguarding response.
The role comes with the opportunity for some home working, but there is a requirement for regular office attendance, home visits and out of hours working.
