Civil Enforcement Officer

£21,269 - £26,446 per year plus enhancements

We are currently seeking a permanent, full-time Civil Enforcement Officer to join our Parking Management team.

A key component of this role is having a customer-centred approach within our enforcement processes, which meets our purpose of parking by enabling our customers to park.

You will be responsible for giving advice to customers, patrolling council-owned car parks and highways within the borough, which includes school patrols, by offering guidance and assistance on safe places to park.  You will be required to inspect ticket machines, Traffic Regulation Order lines and signs at each location, to report any defects prior to any enforcement activity.  Enforcement of the parking restrictions will be conducted on an electronic handheld device, which will process the Penalty Charge Notice in accordance with the Traffic Management Act 2004 and local policies.

Full training for the Level 2 Award for Parking Enforcement Officers - Traffic Management Act 2004 - will be given, if this qualification is not already held.  However, while no previous experience of working as a CEO is required, candidates should have experience of working in a team and able to deal with members of the public.  Good general knowledge of IT systems and attention to detail / record keeping is essential.  Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence

The role will involve regular dealings with the public and close liaison with other Civil Enforcement Officers, Parking Management, Traffic Management, CCTV and the Customer Service Unit, where information is communicated and shared between all parties.  A radio system and mobile phones are provided to aid these lines of communication.

You will be required to work 37 hours per week, including bank holidays, on a rota basis, covering the hours of 7am – 10pm Monday – Sunday.
