Civil Enforcement Officer - (Ref:CEO)
Salary: Up to £23,753.60 p.a.
We looking for hard-working and dedicated people to help keep Broxbourne’s streets safe by joining our team of Civil Enforcement Officers.
Failing to follow parking law puts children in danger, especially near schools; bad parking blocks emergency vehicles, putting local lives at risk and every car wrongly parked in a disabled bay stops less-abled people from accessing the area’s facilities.
It is the duty of Civil Enforcement Officers to make sure drivers are following all these rules and more. You will play a vital role in ensuring good traffic flow, maximising available parking spaces and enhancing safety throughout the Borough of Broxbourne.
You will ensure the compliance of both on and off-street parking contraventions, as well as the smooth running of the Council’s pay and display car parks and on-street pay and display areas.
Excellent customer care skills are essential for this role, and you must demonstrate good people skills often in challenging situations. You must be a team player and have basic computer skills. You must be prepared to work in all weathers on a flexible rota basis, which will include weekends and bank holidays.
A manual driving licence is required. This role requires a standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential in this post.
We are committed to safer recruitment, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
The benefits package includes generous leave entitlement, a full training and development programme, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and free membership to the Council’s local leisure centres, which includes free access to gyms, swimming pools, fitness classes, racket sport sessions, a health suite and a range of generous discounts across other leisure and culture services.
Broxbourne Council is an Equal Opportunities employer.
Application forms must be submitted online by 06/10/2022 quoting the above reference.
