1:1 Teaching Assistant

Crosby High School is a 168 place 11-16 school for pupils with moderate learning difficulties/complex learning difficulties and physical disabilities. We are seeking to appoint dedicated and committed teaching assistants (level 2) with proven records of academic support for children as well as an ability to offer quality care and support to children. Experience of primary practice and / or working with pupils with Special Educational Needs is desirable.

We are looking to appoint teaching assistants with strong communication skills who recognise that the role of the TA is strongly linked to removing barriers for learning for our pupils. A teaching assistant who demonstrates a deep passion in relation to the education of pupils with Special Educational Needs is key, as the focus of the school is firmly set on providing the very best education for every pupil. Some of our pupils require help with personal care via assistance from another member of staff

The successful candidate(s) will be employed specifically for an individual pupil and will work very closely with other class TAs. Training will be provided in support of this post. The post is reviewed on an annual basis and is linked to the child.

We can offer:

  • A welcoming and supportive school community based on a strong ethos where everyone is valued.
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic and eager learners who participate fully in all aspects of school life.
  • A dedicated and hard-working staff team who are committed to continuous school development to improve outcomes for children and their families.
  • An exciting opportunity to work with children with Special Education Needs

Due to the nature of work the above post is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and relevant care/safeguarding legislation and appointment will only be confirmed if a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure is obtained from the Criminal Records Bureau.

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.
