Salary: £ £38,780 - 43,732 per annum pro rata + £5,500 Market Rate Supplement
Hours: 37 hours per week
Location: Working from home and any CBC offices, including Priory House, Shefford. You will be expected to attend a CBC office location on a monthly basis, and as needed to carry out your role
Contract Type: Hybrid - Permanent

About the Role:
Do you like working in a fast pace and challenging environment and have a passion for making a positive change within the community? Central Bedfordshire Council are looking to appoint a Senior Building Surveyor to work in the growing Minor Projects team. The role will include all aspects of Building Surveying including design & specification, procurement, management of building contractors/ consultants, budget management and successful delivery of construction projects. This job offers real variety with no two days being the same. The council believe in agile working and you will be provided all the equipment you need to work in or away from the office.
To be considered for the role you will have a proven track record of providing Building Surveying services, be qualified to degree level and be a professional member of CIOB RICS, CABE or meet the full criteria for acquiring it. The successful candidate must have a sound working knowledge of Planning/ Building Regulations, British Standards, construction building techniques, CDM & H&S regulations. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be an expert in managing your own workload. You will also need a good work ethic, even under pressure, be conscientious and hard-working and prepared to work as part of a team. This role will include line management responsibilities of members of the team. As well as all this we would expect you to take great pride in a job well done.
