Recruitment & Resourcing Officer

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated, suitably skilled and experienced Recruitment and Resourcing Officer to join our friendly and supportive team.

Duties of the post will include; advising on advertisements, selection methods and tools, the preparation of recruitment documentation, carrying out pre-appointment checks, processing DBS checks, responding to queries on terms and conditions of employment, and issuing contracts.  

You will ideally hold a recognised Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development qualification or equivalent, or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience. 

You will have a sound understanding of pre-employment requirements and an up to date working knowledge of employment legislation, applicable to resourcing, recruitment, selection and issuing of employment contracts.

You will have experience of working in a Human Resources environment together with knowledge, understanding and experience of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel and experience of working with large integrated HR and/or pay software systems. The Council uses a web based e-recruitment system; experience of a similar system would be great but is not essential.

Within this role you'll gain experince of working with a wide and varied recruitment caseload; with the opportunity to work with services and hiring managers from across the Council.  This will mean that at times you will be dealing with high volumes of recruitment and will have to be able to manage your own time, prioritise tasks and work to tight deadlines. 

We operate with a paperless system so it’s essential you are competent in the use of electronic document management systems. You must also be proficient in keeping accurate records as well as having strong communication skills to liaise with a range of candidates and hiring managers.
