About the role:
In this role you will support young people to develop their interpersonal skills by creating and delivering interventions on a one-to-one and group basis. You will take them on activities that they will remember for years - and will remind you when you see them in the community in years to come! You will create safe, respectful relationships with young people and their families and get to know how we can support them better; creating and reviewing support plans and co-ordinating with other services to meet their needs.
About the candidate:
We are looking for people who can engage and motivate young people, who can manage groups whilst being an excellent pro-social model who can solve problems on the fly to ensure that they go home enthused about what they have done and eager to do more! You will need to be a strong team player but also pro-active and self motivated in working independently.
Your experience should reflect these skills, whether in a paid or voluntary role, and we welcome applications from those with experience of working with young people with additional needs.
You will benefit from working with a team who have great experience in the above and will offer you support in your role, and a management team who offer leadership, understanding and a commitment to helping you to develop. The post is initially 12 months but we are pursuing funding to extend this.
