Teaching Assistant

Part time SEN Grade 6 TA

Weaver Primary School is an OFSTED graded ‘good’ primary school for children aged 4-11 years. We are offering an exciting opportunity for an adaptable, resourceful and inspirational part –time, Grade 6 Teaching Assistant. The role requires a total of 16.25 hours worked Monday to Friday from 08.30 to 12.00 working with 2 pupils with ECHPs. In addition, there is a 12-month position working 6.75 hours over 3 afternoons per week (to be agreed) from 1.00pm to 3.15pm delivering interventions 1:1 and with small groups.

The nature of this role would ideally suit someone who has previous, proven SEN experience and who is confident working on a 1:1 or small group basis. Knowledge of communication and interaction and cognition and learning are essential. A good knowledge of Read, Write Inc would be advantageous.

This role requires excellent communication and teamwork skills as well as high expectations and standards of attainment, achievement and behaviour. The successful candidate will be a confident practitioner who is able to offer insight and alternative ways of working, work flexibly and under their own initiative and work effectively with another TA to ensure the best outcomes for the pupils.
