This is your opportunity to join the Customer Services Team dealing directly with customers to ensure they receive the best service possible across the whole council.
You will work within all sections of Customer Services including the Meet and Greet Desk, in the telephone contact centre and on the Customer Service Help Desk covering appointments, when required. You will also be part of a rota to cover the Tourist Information point at Gravesend Borough Market on a Wednesday and some weekends to cover for leave/sickness. Some flexibility will be required with regards to working hours during the week Monday-Friday to take account of occasional weekend working.
Undertake a range of specialist tasks including:
Working in the telephone contact centre which handles a range of enquiries including parking, housing allocations, waste management, council tax, benefits and other general enquiries
Working in the Gravesham Gateway – the main customer interface and reception area including Meet and Greet, self-help and planning enquiries
Working on the Customer Services Help Desk, dealing with appointments concerning a range of services.
Cover at the Tourist Information point at Gravesend Borough Market – handling a range of enquiries, selling small gifts and booking events
Excellent written communication and verbal skills
Educated to a minimum GCSE Level including English Language
IT literate (Microsoft packages)
Demonstrable customer service skills
NVQ Certificate/Diploma in Customer Service
