About the role
As Senior Project Manager for Transport Behaviour Change, you will lead the delivery of high-profile transport improvements across the city that promote sustainable and active travel. As well as investing in high quality transport infrastructure, a major part of your role will involve helping people alter their travel habits and tailoring interventions to their needs. This will include design and delivery of externally funded programmes of work as well as the City Council’s Local Transport Plan programme, public transport services and developer related highway works.
As the successful candidate you will possess strong leadership skills and have experience of managing large-scale projects and work packages. You will have a track record of successfully developing and delivering change, and you’ll also have a strong customer ethos, a collaborative approach and excellent communication skills across a broad range of diverse groups.
As a senior officer, you will work directly to the Head of Transport Projects & Engineering and help set the strategic direction for City Transport. You’ll be based in our modern, open plan offices in the city centre and benefit from flexible working, including home-working. Joining our enthusiastic and supportive team, you’ll collaborate with colleagues from a range of fields and work closely with project teams delivering transport changes across the city.
This is an exciting time to join Brighton & Hove City Council within the Transport Projects and Engineering team. We have an ambitious range of projects to roll out across the city. Though much has already been achieved, much still needs to be done to improve services which will ensure the successful delivery of current projects, as well as developing new ones.
