Teaching Assistant

Advert for a part-time Teaching Assistant to start 31st October 2022

Wincle Church of England Primary School is seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic teaching assistant to join our hard-working team. We require a creative and highly motivated person to support a child with special educational needs.

We are a small, rural primary school set in the idyllic Peak District National Park. Our mission statement is ‘Shine like stars’ from the Bible book of Philippians and through this, we encourage all of our children to shine like stars in their work, attitude, behaviour and relationships.

The nature of this role will require the successful applicant to demonstrate initiative and creativity to adapt tasks to suit the children’s personal needs, use advanced behaviour management strategies and support pupils’ mental health.

Grade: 4.
Number of hours: 13.5hrs (Thursday and Friday)
Number of weeks: 39

Contract: temporary

Please note that there are currently two vacancies at Wincle and there is the option to combine both jobs for a total of 34 hours. Please contact the school for more information. 

Successful candidates must be able to deliver good teaching and learning to individuals, small groups and work closely with class teachers to enhance all pupils’ social, moral, cultural and spiritual development. This role requires effective communication skills, excellent teamwork skills and high expectations and standards for attainment, achievement and behaviour. The successful candidate is expected to be committed to all aspects of school life and support the Christian ethos of the school.

 

Wincle C of E (A) Primary School is committed to safeguarding children and young people therefore all post holders are subject to appropriate vetting procedure. Appointment is subject to the completion of pre-employment checks which will include References (which will be taken up prior to interview), Health, Right to Work in the UK, DBS and a Declaration with regard to the Disqualification by Association Regulations.
