Planning Lawyer

Full-time (36 hours flexible)

Salary range £35,027 - £50,356 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)

Spelthorne has an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Lawyer to join its busy in-house legal team.

We are looking for a lawyer with some experience of dealing with a varied Planning workload to support the work of the Council’s busy Planning department, including advising on enforcement matters and drafting of Section 106 agreements. The successful candidate will have sound knowledge of Planning law with the ability to communicate effectively with other professionals and elected members. Experience covering other areas of litigation would be desirable, but not essential.

You will provide high quality support and advice to colleagues and officers of the Council as well as providing support to other members of the legal team. We are looking for a positive, flexible and self-motivated lawyer who contributes to good team spirit in our small but friendly team.

In exchange, the Council offers support in continuing your professional development as well as a wide range of employment benefits.

This post is identified as a hybrid post supporting both office and home working in line with Spelthorne Borough Council’s policy. The post holder will be required to attend the office in line with a rota and any service requirements.
