Job Duties:
Registration Certificate Archive- Registration and Citizenship Service, Resources
Hertfordshire Registration Certificate Archive team are looking to recruit two enthusiastic support officers to join the team. The Archive is based in the Old Courthouse at Hatfield and looks after the Hertfordshire registers for all births, deaths and marriages since 1837.
The team produce copy certificates for all birth, death, marriage and civil partnership occurring in Hertfordshire so the need for accurate recording and secure stock control is essential. Applications for certificates are primarily made on-line but can come in by telephone.
The Registration Certificate Archive team also create the digital record for all religious marriages which take place in Hertfordshire and so must maintain a high standard of accuracy. The marriage paperwork is received from religious bodies directly or in some cases members of the public both face to face and via post.
The successful candidates must have excellent customer care skills, communication and attention to detail with the ability to interpret legislation and complex rules and procedures. Experience of working in a similar service dealing with the public is desirable.
They should have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft applications and Adobe Photoshop.
