An opportunity has arisen for a duty worker within the Family Time Contact Centre based in Wokingham Town Centre.
You will be part of an enthusiastic and dedicated team who pride themselves in ensuring children and parents are able to enjoy dedicated time together which is safe, child focused and compassionate of the challenges that supervised contact brings to families whilst they are going through the court process.
The post holder will act as duty worker for the service and will support the contact workers in their duties directly with families. This will include liaison with social workers, foster carers and the centre co-ordinator and others as deemed necessary. There will be times where you will be required to supervise contacts which includes writing a clear record of your observations onto a supervised contact template. You will also be required to assist the contact centre co-ordinator ensuring that rotas are maintained, and the service continues to develop and maintain its excellent reputation.
You will need to be an excellent communicator, resourceful and creative in overcoming potential problems and able to demonstrate resilience as you proactively support the contact workers and families within the centre.
The majority of our work takes place at our dedicated contact centre however you will need to be flexible and at times, able to travel to other centres in Wokingham as and when required.
You must have previous experience of working with children, young people and families in a voluntary or paid capacity. You will receive full training, support and supervision.
This is a part time post; the centre is open 9 – 5.45 Monday – Friday. This is a fixed term contract.
