Digital Inclusion Project Officer

This post is offered on a fixed term contract for 12 months, with the potential for arrangements to be extended beyond this date if additional funding is awarded.

It is an exciting time to become part of the Home Independence Team at Woking Borough Council.  Working in partnership with health, social care, voluntary sector and private business Woking Borough Council is seeking a Digital Inclusion Project  Officer to push forward work to enable residents to become digitally included and enable residents to remain independent at home through the use of smart technology and use of equipment to help monitor their health.

You must be enthusiastic and have a genuine desire to help and support residents.  You need to have an understanding of SMART technology in the home and how it can help residents live independently in their homes and monitor their health as a preventative tool.  You must be confident,  organised, used to partnership working yet able to work independently and manage your time well to ensure you are able to meet changing workloads. You will need to be confident in the use of ICT to report outcomes and measure objectives and will be chairing and organising meetings. 

You need to be confident to work with residents individually but also confident to talk with businesses and partners regarding funding opportunities and development of the project in a meeting setting.  You need confidence to talk to partners to push this work forward at pace. You will also work with residents and partners to identify their needs and requirements.   You will also talk to  residents about  services and community groups that can help them to become more independent, physically active, increase their skill base, to obtain advice or to become more socially connected and to signpost to relevant services that will help them to generally lead a healthier, more fulfilling lifestyle.

A full driving licence and access to a car is essential for this role.
