School Business Manager

The Agate Momentum Trust is looking for a School Business Manager (SBM) to be based at Hallsville Primary School, starting as soon as possible.  Hallsville is an outstanding school in the London Borough of Newham and is part of the Agate Momentum Trust, along with Scott Wilkie Primary School.

This is a new and exciting post and the successful candidate will enjoy a busy and varied working schedule. The SBM will have responsibility for the day to day financial administration at the school and will support the Chief Financial Officer with managing premises, health and safety and sickness absence, along with risk management.  The SBM will support the Headteacher with administration and organisational matters.

This role is open to experienced school business managers or to those working in a financial role (preferably in a school/college setting) who would like to become a school business manager. The Trust will support the undertaking of the relevant SBM qualification and will also provide training for specific systems, such as Bromcom, PS Financials (Iris) and using the Google cloud.

We are looking for someone with a positive and proactive approach to their work, who is bright and enthusiastic with an outgoing disposition.  Professionalism at all times and an ability to work well with the team, but to also work efficiently without direction are prerequisites for this position.

The hours for this role are 8.45am to 4.45pm with a 1 hour lunch break, totalling 35 paid hours per week.  This is a term-time position.

If you want to work in a great school with committed and happy staff and pupils, please apply online via Jobs Go Public and come and join us at Hallsville.  We have ample free parking at the school and are part of Cyclescheme, offering interest free cycle loans to staff.  The school is a short walk from Royal Victoria DLR station.  We also subscribe to a comprehensive wellbeing package with Schools Advisory Service.

If you have any questions about the role or would like to arrange a visit to the school, please contact Hannah Cleland, Chief Financial Officer on 07891 181367.

*Please note: interviews for this position will take place w/c Monday 4th December 2023.*
