We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated finance professional to provide financial advice and support to specific areas of the organisation. As a fully qualified AAT or part qualified AAT or accountant actively studying towards full qualification, you will have a passion for providing high quality financial support to services.
In this role, you will support the Finance Business Partner in all aspects of the finance service for one of the Council’s three Directorates. This will include the production of budget monitoring reports, closure of accounts as well as budget setting and financial planning. There will be opportunities to gain experience in other areas of finance to further enhance your career.
You will work with the Business Partner to ensure that service managers are provided with sound financial advice and challenge, enabling them to manage their budgets effectively within existing governance arrangements, and supporting the identification of areas of risk, efficiencies and improvement.
You will have an understanding of local government and the environment in which it operates. You will also need to be a dynamic and highly motivated individual who can establish relationships and work effectively with managers at all levels.
