Office Caretaker

The Facilities service at Arun District Council is an energetic and adaptable team covering all aspects of a traditional caretaking function across the Councils operational buildings.

We are looking to employ a multi skilled tradesperson to carry out day-to-day maintenance across our corporate buildings, along with housekeeping tasks to ensure the buildings are safe and ready to be used by staff, councillors, and the public. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and take pride in the presentation and maintenance of our office spaces, meeting facilities, and depots. You must be flexible, adaptable, and willing to learn fast – operating as part of our dynamic team to deliver a first-class service.

Our team not only take a hands-on approach with housekeeping and maintenance, but also hold expert knowledge of our operating systems such as heating, ventilation, electrical distribution, water services, emergency generators and the like. We hold responsibility for buildings which vary from large-scale purpose-built offices to smaller heritage premises, and all are unique. No two days are ever the same!

Based at our Civic Centre in Littlehampton, the job is worked on a three weekly rota system, which may also include cover at Bognor Regis Town Hall when there is leave/sickness.
