Tenancy Management Officer

About us

Hillingdon Council: Putting our Residents first.

At Hillingdon we strive to deliver our core tenancy management functions via a collaborative network of multi-agency partnerships working to achieve positive outcomes and successful tenancies.

About the role

As a Tenancy Management Officer, you will be part of a team that provides 'end to end' tenancy management services from a point of a prospective tenant viewing a property, and entering into a Hillingdon tenancy.

You will be tasked with managing our various tenancy types (secure, probationary, and flexible) preventing homelessness and sustaining homes by 'doing the right thing at the right time' assessing risk and offering support when needed to enable residents to make the decision for a right fit property for them, so we can make the best use of our properties

About you

You will need good verbal and written communication skills as you are expected to proactively deal with a wide range of issues. Whilst confidence and good judgement are essential in the support of residents, who may be distressed or exhibit challenging behaviours, you will be expected to use your initiative and show an ability to work in a pressurised environment.

To be considered for this position you will need to ensure you meet the criteria set out in the Job Profile and Person Specification below.

  • local government average salary pension scheme
  • free parking (4 days a week) if based at the Civic Centre
  • a 36-hour week for all full-time staff
  • generous holiday entitlement: a minimum 25 days a year (plus bank holidays), rising to 28 days after five years' service. For more senior positions holiday entitlements can rise to a maximum of 36 days
  • career breaks
  • flexible working hours
  • season ticket loan
  • access to a Credit Union
  • access to a wide range of training and courses
  • discount on a variety of Adult Education courses run by the Council
  • payment of professional fees where these are required
  • discounts at council-owned leisure centres and swimming pools at Hillingdon (Uxbridge), Queensmead (South Ruislip), Highgrove (Ruislip) and Botwell Green (Hayes)
  • cycle purchase scheme
  • car sharing scheme
  • 30% discount on green fees at council-owned golf courses
