Helping to secure large-scale funding into Halton
The Programmes Office is a newly established team responsible for overseeing the successful delivery and implementation of the Council’s externally funded economic regeneration projects, including Halton Borough Council’s Town Deal Programme and including employment learning and skills projects.
The post will be responsible for promoting and developing externally funded programmes and projects in Halton; leading on the development of strategic funding bids of >£1 million that support the Council’s priorities from a range of sources, including local and national Government, Lottery, Trust funding; horizon scanning for, researching and promoting new strategic funding sources.
Key duties will include:
- To lead on the development of strategic projects on behalf of the Council and its partners; co-ordinating, driving and advising project applicants and steering groups in accordance with the Council and the LCR strategic priorities and to significantly contribute to the Team’s income generation targets.
- To develop and maintain knowledge of the major sources of economic and social regeneration funding appropriate for projects in the public, private and third sector.
- To lead on raising awareness of external funding opportunities via targeted seminars, training events and workshops for potential applicants.
- To brief senior colleagues on a regular basis on funding opportunities and match the requirements of individual departments to relevant funding streams.
