Adults Social Care Assistant

The starting salary for this role is £26,080 per annum for 36 hours per week (pro-rata for part-time staff).

This is a full time position but part-time applications will be considered.

We are looking to recruit Social Care Assistants within our Adult Social Care Locality teams in Mid Surrey.

We currently have vacancies in the following team:

Elmbridge Locality Team, Elmbridge Civic Centre, High Street, Esher, KT10 9SD.

*Please note* - at the time of advertising we currently only have vacancies available within our Elmbridge Locality Team (KT10 9SD) – however please note that this is subject to change with potential opportunities arising in Epsom, Mole Valley and Epsom General Hospital.

There’s never been a more exciting time to join Adult Social Care and we currently have the following unqualified Social Care Assistant vacancies based in our Locality team in Elmbridge:

You will be part of a team and will have access to direction, support and supervision from a qualified Social Worker or Occupational Therapist. This position is a gateway to opportunities to learn about Occupational Therapy and Social Work that may lead to you becoming a professional in one of these fields of social care.

You will work in partnership with individuals, their carers, professional staff in other agencies, service providers and the locality team staff in order to support vulnerable adults and their families to identify and arrange services that meet their needs.

You will need to have competent basic IT skills and be able and willing to learn to use a variety of software systems.

Social Care Assistants hold a caseload of individuals and carers who will generally have a support plan in place that requires routine monitoring, as your skills expand you will be able to do assessments supporting Social Workers and Occupational Therapists.

Applicants will enjoy working with people and have experience of direct work with the public as part of paid or voluntary work, although they may have limited or no experience of visiting people in their own homes or care settings.

Post holders may work with any combination, or all, of the following care groups: older people, people with physical, sensory, cognitive impairments, people with a learning disability and people with mental health problems.

The work involves travelling within Surrey and also to other parts of the country. Therefore, you will need to be a car driver and have access to a car.
