More Information

Area Hub Manager

Providing the oversight and direction we need to offer timely support to families.

In Kensington and Chelsea, we put local people and local businesses at the heart of decision-making, working in partnership with them to provide quality services that are responsive, effective and efficient. From education to healthcare, we are committed to improving the life chances of our children, and that includes ensuring families can access the support they need, when they need it. Through early interventions, often delivered via our borough-wide network of Family Hubs, we aim to prevent demand for services escalating.

The Role:

Managing and motivating an integrated team of around 20 Family Hub Professionals, you’ll ensure the right support is available. You and your team will tackle a range of needs across the 0-19 age range (up to 2 with SEND), including delivery of aspects of the healthy child programme, along with a focus on early education and school readiness. You’ll also support practitioners to deliver whole-family support drawing on their systemic skills.

As well as having a strong oversight of casework and service delivery, you’ll build positive working relationships with partners such as schools and community organisations to continue to establish and maintain an effective service for children and their parents. Skilled in negotiation, so you’ll also need to be flexible, resourceful and able to think on your feet.

Please refer to the Job Description for more information

About You:

Experience of working with families with complex needs is essential and you are likely to have a professional background in social work, health or education or another related field. Some leadership experience is vital and you’ll have a track-record of developing a service with different partners to meet the diverse needs of the community. A readiness to learn and develop will ensure you get the most from this role, as you’ll be supported to progress. Some flexible working during evenings and weekends is required.

In return, you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays.

We reserve the right to extend or close this vacancy early without warning subject to the volume of suitable applicants.
