Internal Auditor
Do you have an enquiring mind? Do you like problem solving?
These are the skills you need to be an auditor along with being able to work
on your own initiative and use your investigatory skills. We look at processes
and systems to see how well they work and whether they can be improved.
We are also looking to see that there are checks in place to prevent and
detect error or fraud.
The work is diverse, covering all areas of both councils. Whilst we do audit
financial systems there is not a lot of figure work involved and you can find
yourself auditing a range of areas such as cemeteries, events, contracts or
elections.
You will need to have a good level of written English and grammar as you will
be writing your own reports on the work you carry out.
If you have the right skills, then we can provide the training you need to be an
Auditor and you will have the opportunity to grow and develop your knowledge and skills as part of an enthusiastic and supportive team.
Location
The councils have recently made the move to a predominantly remote workforce, with home working being the default for the majority of employees. From time to time, there will be a need to come into the Lewes or Eastbourne office, or to visit other locations within the boundaries of Lewes District and Eastbourne Borough for some of our team meetings and to carry out fieldwork on specific audits.
Additional information
Following the closing date, we will be shortlisting and contacting those who have secured an interview. This is a one tier interview process so we will be interviewing all shortlisted applicants once, and then making a decision as a panel on who to appoint to the role. We are hiring for one vacancy in the Internal Auditor role as part of this recruitment process.
Closing Date: Monday 28th November, midday
Interviews: to be held during the week commencing 5th December
