We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated candidate to join our information security team. Working alongside our technical partners, Agilisys, you will assist the Information and ICT Security Manager in implementing and enforcing our cyber security policy framework, ensuring that we satisfy our requirements under various assurance and compliance frameworks such as PSN, PCI-DSS, Cyber Essentials and the Data Security and Protection Toolkit. You will provide a key role in raising awareness of established and emerging cyber security threats and embedding best practice techniques and behaviours across the workforce and elected members to mitigate the associated risks. You will respond to incidents and recommend improvements to business processes and technical and policy controls, as well as contribute to from an information security perspective.
Our ideal candidate will be familiar with current data protection legislation and have a background in information security with an appropriate vocational or professional qualification, supported by experience of overseeing cyber security in local government or within a large enterprise.
We rely on Agilisys as our technical partners to install, configure and manage all of our technical infrastructure, however, being part of a small strategic client contract monitoring team, you will work with Agilisys colleagues to ensure that their work supports our security and IT strategies. You will also monitor their performance to ensure that services are delivered in accordance with the requirements of the contract.
This is an important role which helps protect critical public services delivered by a progressive and forward-thinking local authority.
