Helps and Child Safety Project Worker

HELPs & Child Safety Project Worker

Our children’s centres offer universal and targeted support for families to get the most out of the activities and resources in their community and help them to develop and sustain their own networks of support.

We are ambitious for all children in Halton and believe that with the best start in life, children will be able to achieve their full potential across the course of their life.

‘Unintentional injuries in and around the home are a leading cause of preventable death for children under five years, and are a major cause of ill health and serious disability’.

Halton HELPS was set up to facilitate the provision of safety equipment, resources and information with the aim of preventing accidents in the home for children under 5 years. The project worker will co-ordinate this service offer across Halton

You will need to be a confident communicator who is well organised with strong project management skills who can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

You will be responsible for co-ordinating the purchase, delivery and provision of safety equipment and administering the project data and finances

You will be required to work closely with key partners and develop and maintain strong partnerships to ensure child safety is prioritised.

You will need to keep up to date with current information on child safety, the 2 main national organisations that we link to are RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) and CAPT (Child Accident Prevention Trust)

The working hours can be flexible 25 per week e.g. 3.5 days or worked over 4 shorter days
