Principal Planning and Regulatory Solicitor

From £43,516 to £50,595 plus Grade allowance of £2,400 per year

Hybrid working - some home working and some time in our Farnborough office

Permanent post – JOB SHARE CONSIDERED

Rushmoor has a lot to look forward to including big plans to transform the borough, with a strategic focus on regeneration and economic development, housing. This is an exciting time to join and you will get exposure to a fantastic range of important work linked to the regeneration plans for Farnborough in particular.  The Rushmoor Local Plan is also up for review so experience in this area would be advantageous but not essential.

Passionate about excellent service, you are an enthusiastic and confident local government solicitor able to deliver at pace.  You are now ready for a challenging and varied new role to consolidate your experience.  You will work with high autonomy and carry a varied workload as our planning and regulatory lead.  The Council takes an agile approach to its workforce and will consider applicants who are interested in a job share – eg splitting out the planning elements of the role from the litigation aspects.

You will have sound technical knowledge and experience in Local Government legal matters, and will be willing to use your expertise to help develop other team members.

You will confidently interface between your colleagues, our Senior Team, Service Managers and Members.  You will have strong negotiation and persuasion skills and be comfortable conveying complex information in the best way for your intended audience.

We offer great working conditions, with real flexibility around how and where you work.    Full--time, part–time and other flexible working requests will be considered.

If you would like to know more, informal discussions are welcomed – please do arrange a call with catriona.herbert@rushmoor.gov.uk

Further details can be found in the attached job description and person specification.

If this sounds like your next career move, please send your CV and supporting statement to Rushmoor to hr@rushmoor.gov.uk.  .

We will continue to advertise this post until we find the right candidate.  If you are interested we recommend applying as soon as possible.
