Senior Educational Psychologist

We are building new futures; inclusion, learning and well-being for all.

In Bracknell Forest Educational Psychology Service, we creatively apply psychology in collaboration with the community to facilitate positive change for children and families. We have a successful traded model of service delivery. Most of our schools subscribe to a service level agreement that enables us to prioritise early intervention and inclusion. We have a team of dedicated locums who support us in providing psychological advice for EHCPs. We are commissioned to provide support to Children's Social Care and The Virtual School as those services value our unique perspective. We are involved in a wide range of multi-disciplinary projects, including spearheading a neurodiversity project. We offer training and supervision for ELSAs. We protect time for every team member to explore their specialist interest and skills. For example, dynamic assessment, trauma informed, power threat meaning framework, compassion focused approaches, EBSA and VIG. This year we are focusing on developing a service approach to non-standardised assessment. Our excellent reputation and increased demand for what we can offer mean that we now need to expand our service.

As a Senior Educational Psychologist in Bracknell, you will work in a stable, close knit, friendly and supportive team that is highly regarded by our LA colleagues and within our schools and settings. You will have guaranteed supervision from experienced colleagues and the opportunity for peer supervision and regular professional development. We are committed to providing our EPs with a variety of interesting and exciting work, as well as the opportunity to develop specialisms, or carry out regular work in support of other important LA teams.

 

You will be supported to carry out the following duties, responsibilities and training…

You will promote the healthy emotional development and learning of children and young people through the application of psychology at the individual, group and systemic levels, with a range of stakeholders. In doing so, you are expected to work collaboratively and in a person-centred way with C&YP, families, school staff, multi-disciplinary professionals, and council officers, providing consultancy, support and psychological advice as appropriate. There will be opportunity and support to develop your own professional interests and promote excellent practice across and beyond the service. You will contribute to the development of the service as a community resource and be a part of shaping our offer for the future.

As a Senior Educational Psychologist you will take lead responsibility for areas of work on behalf of the EPS, will support efficiencies across the service, have a key role to maintain and extend our reach, our positive psychology, will line manage and/or supervise members of the Service, and will provide impact analysis.

What we're looking for…

We are looking for experienced EPs or Senior EPs seeking to create, extend and review impact of educational psychology practices. A professional practitioner who is reflective, keeps abreast of research and good practice ideas, and promotes team well-being and learning. Being able to challenge others effectively, encouraging team strength and motivation, and visions and actions the application of educational psychology across the community.
