Grounds Maintenance/Chapel Attendant/Cremation Operative

Are you looking for a new opportunity in a versatile role in a service helping to support people at a key moment in their life?

At the Kent and Sussex Crematorium, you will be part of a supportive team providing an important service for bereaved families of Tunbridge Wells and the surrounding areas. The role includes working in the crematorium grounds, being front of house in the chapel, meeting and greeting families and Funeral Directors, and carrying out the full cremation process. The duties are completed on a rota basis, and you will work closely with colleagues in the Crematorium Office.

You will need to demonstrate first class customer service skills, with a willingness to help people.  The grounds will need your expert eye, checking plaques, permits and floral tributes. You will also carry out the final cremation process itself in a professional, respectful, and dignified manner. The successful candidate will receive full training within the ICCM Crematorium Technician Training Scheme (CTTS).

Elements of this role require some physical exertion and working outside in all weathers, along with basic maintenance of some machinery (training provided). 

You will be working on a rota basis Monday to Friday.  There will be a need on occasion to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the service.
