Internal Communications Officer

We have an exciting new opportunity to join Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council as our Internal Communications Officer working within the Corporate Communications team on a part time fixed term two year contract.

This is a new post created in September 2022 following a review of our internal communications strategy. The main focus of the role will be to develop the internal communications function. There will be significant emphasis on embedding the council’s vision and values across the organisation, ensuring staff are engaged and informed and that corporate priorities are clearly communicated.

The post holder will bring creativity and professionalism to the role and will have experience of developing and managing a suite of digital and offline communications channels. Central to this new role is planning and managing the content development for a new staff intranet site, which will underpin a fundamental shift in our internal processes and improve the way staff can access information.  

As an experienced Communications Officer you will play a leading role in engaging and updating staff on a wide variety of corporate projects, developing good relationships with internal stakeholders of all levels and be able to influence others effectively to collaborate on internal communications projects.

You will also work closely with the rest of the Communications team on developing ideas that deliver impact and drive change through all our channels.
