Accommodation Supply and Resettlement Service Manager

Lewisham Council’s Housing Service is seeking a new Accommodation Supply and Resettlement Service Manager to form part of our new senior leadership team

The Role:

It’s an exciting time to join us. Lewisham is a fantastic place to live, work and visit – we have ambition, passion and a huge amount of potential. Our people are passionate, engaging and diverse. We have strong communities, and we are proud of how welcoming we are as the UKs first Borough of Sanctuary.

It’s also a challenging time for us, with significant financial pressure and increasing demand for our services. We are meeting this challenge head on, with a radical and bold change agenda underway across the organisation. We want to ensure that our residents and communities can benefit from, and contribute to, London’s future prosperity.

We are looking for a new Accommodation Supply and Resettlement Service Manager.

What we’re looking for:

Reporting to the Head of Housing Needs and Refugee Services, the Accommodation Supply and Resettlement Manager will lead our accommodations function, managing the supply and allocation of Private rented and temporary accommodations to meet demand, ensuring that we procure high quality properties to meet our statutory duties.

Managing a team of up to 35 staff, the post-holder is also responsible for leading our move-on and resettlement service, proactively working to move residents out of temporary accommodation into secure and stable homes in the private rented sector. Working closely with the Homelessness Prevention & Assessments Service Manager, you’ll also work to ensure that we are able to source accommodations to prevent homelessness before a family requires temporary accommodation.

This is a critical job within the division, and requires an individual with operational understanding and a strategic eye. Recognising that the supply of affordable secure accommodation lies at the heart of the housing crisis, you will be an innovator with bold ideas of how we can try new ways to source the properties we need, and to ensure that our residents get the support they deserve and need.

We’re looking for an inspirational commercially savvy leader, communicator and manager who can demonstrate strong experience of working in a commercial environment, ideally relating to property management agencies and managed accommodation. If you are excited by the challenge, we want to hear from you.
