Building Cleaner

Lancaster City Council is seeking to recruit two reliable Building Cleaners working 8 hours each or 1 cleaner working 16 hours, to perform and undertake cleaning duties at our offices and buildings. Ability to communicate clearly and to understand written instructions is essential. 

It would be an advantage to have experience of similar work, although full training will be provided. You will sanitise, sweep and mop floors, clean toilets, dust, polish, clean surfaces and empty bins.

A flexible attitude to work is essential, as you will be required to cover Bank Holidays & annual leave and you may occasionally be required to provide cleaning cover to other Council buildings. 

This position is based at Morecambe Festival Market, but hours may be needed at other council buildings with reasonable notice. The hours of work are 16 hours per week for 1 cleaner or 8 hours each for 2 cleaners.  

8 Hours post-  working 4.30pm till 6.30pm (5pm till 7pm in the summer due to summer opening times), Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

16 hours post - 4.30pm till 7.30pm (5pm till 8pm in summer) on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays & Sundays, These hours maybe done the next mornings 6am till 9am if evening work does not suit candidate. Then 4 hours on a day when the market is shut, this day maybe Mondays or Wednesdays- times can be negotiated.
