Salary: £26,845 - £29,586 per annum pro rata
Hours: 37 per week
Base Location: Working from home and any CBC offices, including Priory House, Shefford. You will be expected to attend a CBC office location on a monthly basis, and as needed to carry out your role required by the service
Contract Type: Hybrid - Permanent

About the role:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join the Environmental Services team
Environmental Services are committed to ensuring Central Bedfordshire is a great place to live, work and visit. We achieve this by managing several large-scale, high-cost public-facing services that enhance our area, including waste collection and disposal, street cleansing, Household Waste Recycling Centres and grounds maintenance. You’ll find your greatness as you play an integral role working in Environmental Services to deliver a range of contracts.
You will support the Contract Development Manager to deliver and develop a range of Environmental Services contracts and procurements. Building effective working relationships with the team, colleagues, suppliers and stakeholders.
On a day to day basis you will assist the Contract Development Manager with research and targeted activities to deliver best value and contract efficiencies, as well as conducting due diligence activities (including site audits) and compiling and reporting data.
Educated to a high standard and/or with good experience in a comparable role, you’re used to problem-solving, multi-tasking and managing resources effectively. You are an effective communicator, adept at liaising with stakeholders and maximising collaborative working, with a professional and proactive approach, used to using your initiative. You will have a high level of IT skills, literacy and numeracy with the ability to process data and set realistic and suitable outputs or objectives. Knowledge of the environmental sector would be an advantage. Travel and access to a car will be required for this role. You’ll get the chance to gain insight and knowledge in environmental based services.
