Starting Salary: £21,575 with the opportunity to progress to a maximum of £24,054 per annum (pro rata for part-time)
Hours: 18.5 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

Hertfordshire Libraries’ Performing Arts Service supplies music and plays to over 500 orchestras, choirs, theatre companies and play reading groups throughout Hertfordshire and beyond.

If you are looking to work in a role that mixes excellent customers service, supervision of staff and being part of a creative team, this could be the role for you. 

This role (along with a job share) will support the Performing Arts Librarian to actively supervise the performing arts team, including staff timetabling, 1.1s, training and development. You will carry out a range of administrative tasks and act as senior on duty, as required. You will take a leading role in front of house duties, helping customers with enquiries and supporting with the management of performing arts stock.

This role will involve helping the Performing Arts Librarian to develop the department and performing arts team. You will actively promote the Performing Arts Service both inside and outside the wider library service.

The performing arts team are currently working on a project to digitise their collection and in this role you will play an important part in the development of this service.

This role requires excellent organisation and supervisory skills, and the ability to multi-task and communicate effectively with other teams and with our customers.  A good knowledge of word/excel packages is required. No formal qualifications are needed although and interest in or knowledge of performing arts is desirable.

These are exciting times in the Performing Arts Service. This role allows you to play a pivotal role in helping to develop this service as part of its management team.
