This role has a starting salary of £26,080 per annum based on a 36 hours per week (pro-rata for part-time staff).
We are looking to recruit Social Care Assistants within our Adult Social Care teams in North West Surrey.
We currently have vacancies in the following teams:
- 1 x permanent position with the Runnymede Locality team based at Runnymede Civic Centre, Station Road, Addlestone, KT15 2AH.
- 3 x permanent positions with the Spelthorne Locality Team based at Ashford Office, Stanwell Road, Ashford, TW15 3DU.
These are full-time positions, but part-time applications will be considered.

You will have frequent direct contact with the public on the phone as well as visiting them in their own home or care setting. Your role will be to assist qualified practitioners with a variety of tasks, including assessing people’s needs and carrying out regular reviews. You will frequently be the first point of contact between the public and the service, gathering initial information and identifying the need for further assessment, as well as signposting people to other services.
You will work in partnership with individuals, their carers, professional staff in other agencies, service providers and Support Brokers in order to support vulnerable adults and their families to identify and arrange services that meet their needs and promote independence, choice and control.
Social Care Assistants will hold a caseload of individuals and carers who will generally have a support plan in place that requires routine monitoring. Applicants will enjoy working with people and have experience of direct work with the public as part of paid or voluntary work, although they may have limited or no experience of visiting people in their own homes or care settings.
You will have the opportunity to work on the new ‘Discharge to Assess’ model to support vulnerable residents leaving hospital settings in a timely and safe manner. This exciting work will include working within hospitals as part of an integrated workforce of Health and Social Care practitioners with the aim of supporting our residents in their recovery in the community.
The Discharge to Assess model also provides continuity of care whereby you as a practitioner will see the resident’s progress from an acute hospital to the community, and provide Adult Social Care support to enable and empower residents to lead their fullest life whilst promoting their independence and decision-making.
You will need to have competent basic IT skills and be able and willing to learn to use a variety of software systems. The work involves travelling within Surrey; therefore, you will need to be a car driver and have access to a car.
