To work within our repairs service ensuring repairs are delivered to a high standard of quality and customer care, with time and cost managed and compliance monitored and controlled.
To work within our repairs team in collaboration with our regeneration colleagues and other teams across the Council and alongside our Contractors to deliver a value for money and high quality service to our residents and leaseholders.
Co-ordinate and take a hands-on approach to managing repair orders from start to finish for the customer to a high standard of quality and satisfaction, including both reactive, major repairs and our cyclical maintenance regimes. Provide technical expertise, problem solving and guidance ensuring effective repair solutions are provided right first time.
To manage a team of people including trade staff delivering high volume responsive repair works end to end from inception to completion across a designated service area.
The post holder will be provided with a van and mobile phone for work use.
For this role you will need a full UK Driving Licence and it is desirable, but not essential to have a NVQ level 2 or equivalent in a building trade.
We are looking for someone with experience of working on new build homes including modern methods of construction. You will have experience working in a repairs environment with on-site trade’s management combined with performance management skills and excellent experience working to manage contractors and working alongside consultants, residents and Councillors ideally within the new build arena.
You will have extensive Contract Management experience both on-site and with use of performance KPIs, with excellent contract procedure appreciation, including DLP and latent defect process management.
You will have knowledge of and experience in the application of the modern fitted construction industry and associated regulations and legislation and have the drive to maintain an up to date standard across the industry within the role.
Experience and a strong appreciation and understanding of health and safety is essential preferably IOSH Managing Safely.
Ability to effectively co-ordinate resources to manage conflicting demands and priorities and effective IT skills eg Microsoft Office is essential.
