Job description

The Infrastructure, Sustainability & Economic Growth service has an exciting vacancy working within Sustainability & Climate Change team. Joining a growing team in a priority area of our new corporate plan, we are seeking proactive and ambitious applicants with a ‘can do’ attitude who will thrive in this varied and challenging environment. 

  

There will be the opportunities to gain experience across as a range of flooding issues with the Council planning to deliver significant flood mitigation schemes in the Borough over the next 5 years. You will also have the opportunity to work with other areas of the Council to further develop your knowledge and skills.

 

The role will undertake the Council's statutory duty to respond to consultation requests from the Local Planning Authority to review drainage strategies for new developments in the borough. This role would also provide pre-application advice to developers before/during the planning process and lead on applications for consents to work in ordinary watercourses. The role may suit someone with a planning, technical or environmental background.
