Senior Social Care Assistant - Adults

The starting salary for this role is £29,291 per annum, working 36 hours per week.

We have a vacancy for a full-time Senior Social Care Assistant to work flexibly between hospitals in South West Surrey (Royal Surrey County Hospital, Milford, Haslemere and Farnham Community Hospitals).

This is an excellent opportunity for social care assistants to join our outstanding team. You will receive excellent support and supervision combined with comprehensive training/induction.

You will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to establish discharge plans and follow up on patients following discharge to reassess their ongoing needs. You will also be involved in supporting safeguarding investigations and attending safeguarding meetings with the support of qualified practitioners.

Senior Social Care Assistants will have substantial experience of working directly with people with social care needs. You will be confident and competent in working with people with a variety of physical and cognitive impairments.

You will need to have competent basic IT skills and be able and willing to learn to use a variety of software systems.

You need to be able to communicate in a clear, fluent, concise and jargon-free way and in a courteous, calm and professional manner.

You will be working in a team of motivated, dedicated and friendly colleagues and have an added bonus of working closely alongside a wider multi-disciplinary team in a thriving hospital environment.

All community hospitals offer free parking and parking within Royal Surrey County Hospital, can be reclaimed. You may be required to travel between hospitals, but this will be kept to a minimum.

The work involves travelling within South West Surrey and also to other parts of the county. We therefore ask that you are a car driver and have access to a car.

At Surrey, our values and behaviours are just as important as our skills and abilities. They shape who we are as an organisation. Find out more about the values we follow.
